Water is critical to life. With that in mind we have to understand how much water is available to us. For ever mile2 or square mile

X 1/16" of rain = 1.087 million gallons of hard surface run off to the ocean, or lakes etc.

In Monterey California we have a average rain fall of 21 " per year. This roughly equates to 364+ million gallons per square mile per year of hard surface run off. Smooth swales mission is to slow, spread and sink as much of this water back into the landscape as is reasonable and safe. We serve areas as small as a house dwelling unit, up to small 8 acre horse ranches, and we are more than willing to serve larger farms and ranches with vast acreage. Swales are only one tool in our tool box, but what a great tool they are. If you have questions or are looking to solve water issues. Comment in our Blog or contact us through e mail at Positivementalattitude42@gmail.com

You can even snail mail us at P.O.Box 561 Seaside, CA 93955

We serve the greater Monterey Bay area California, Boise Idaho area and are willing to travel within the continental United states of America.

We can use primitive technology A-frame levels, all the way up to Lazer levels for accuracy in swale mark out.

On small properties we rely on shovels and low end technology with labor. On properties larger than 8 acres we start to use tools that can be driven skid steers, back hoes, bulldozers, or what ever fits the landscape and the subsoil or lack there of.

On properties exceeding 4 acres timing is critical for installation success. Also properties over 4 acres will require a budget to be available for the duration of installation of swale systems.

We offer training in the layout, planing, instalation, and maintenance of swales and the vegetation that accompanies them.

If you have questions... We have answers.

Have a great day.
