Permaculture starts with ethics. Then it goes into observation and design.

Swales are a design aspect for landscapes that are arid, or need a increase in water. Since water is critical to life we design water in first.

Setting up Swales automatically has us peg for level. This stages where the swales can go. This shows us possible flat spots in contour. Then we can design in access. Swales are perfectly level. So access can be easy. Then we design in infrastructure. This includes roads, walkways, house sites, power, sewar, etc.

Setting swales gives us the potential for locations of the rest. The mantra is water, access, structures. Good stuff
